time exposure was established in 1986 by david w. haas as a high quality black and white photographic lab principally serving the archival printing needs of fine art photographers.  In this capacity he has worked with many nationally recognized artists including aaron siskind, lee friedlander, dr. harold edgerton, o. winston link, judith joy ross, and george tice, to name but a few.  an on going commitment to the art and history of black and white photography will always drive and inspire everything that time exposure is involved with.

david was awarded his first contract from the historic american engineering record in 1996 to participate in the documentation project of america's national park roads and parkways.  his initial assignment, the blue ridge parkway and great smoky mountains, led to other awards including sites as varied as the bronx river parkway, gettysburg national military park, scotts bluff national monument, and the marsh-billings-rockefeller national historical park.

in addition to photographing an obscure us-canadian border crossing station for the general services administration, more recently david took part in an extensive photographic survey of civil war era national military cemeteries located across our country for the national cemetery administration, photographed a variety of soon to be scrapped naval vessels for the council of american maritime museums, and for over twenty years continues to provide black and white copy negative and printing services for our local macungie historical society.

david holds a bfa in photography from the massachusetts college of art and an mfa in photography from the university of delaware.  as well as keeping busy with time exposure he has also been a part time instructor of photograhy at muhlenberg college in allentown, pennsylvania since 1996.  other teaching assignments have included lehigh university, drexel university, kutztown university, and bowling green state university in ohio.
